Frequently asked questions
What's inside?
100% loose-leaf yerba mate — small-batch, unsmoked, & shade-grown. Vacuum-sealed at origin.
Does it have caffeine?
Yes — about the same as green tea, but balanced by theobromine for calm energy.
How do I brew the traditional way?
Fill the mate ¾ full with Pure Leaf, turn it upside down and shake to move the small particles to the top. Tilt the mate to one side to create a “watering hole,” insert your bombilla, and add warm (not boiling) water. Sip and refill.
Can I reuse the leaves?
Yes! Refill with warm water until the flavor fades — usually around 15 refills per serving.
Do I need a mate gourd to drink this?
No, not at all — but our preferred method is the traditional style. You can also brew it other ways:
• Cold brew: steep in cold water overnight, then strain.
• French press: brew like tea for 3–5 minutes.
• Teapot or infuser: use 2–3 tbsp per cup of warm (not boiling) water.
How is it different from other yerba mate?
Most yerba mate is smoke-dried and aged. Pure Leaf is unsmoked and unaged — bright, clean, and naturally smooth.
Can I drink it everyday?
Yes. Pure Leaf delivers calm, grounded energy — no jitters, no crash.
How should I store it?
Keep sealed in a cool, dry place — away from sunlight and moisture.
Although not required, we recommend refrigerating Pure Leaf after opening to preserve its freshest flavor — unlike most yerba mate that’s aged for years.
