Mate Grabado

A limited release Palo Santo mate handcrafted and engraved by Daniel Omar Rodríguez in Buenos Aires. With over 36 years of craft to his name, Daniel works with sustainably sourced Palo Santo from Argentina’s Chaco region, shaping each vessel by hand before engraving it exclusively for maa·tay.

Our Mate Grabado carries the warmth and aroma of Palo Santo in its purest form, while the engraving adds a permanent mark of story, ritual, and origin. Each piece is individually finished in Daniel’s workshop, with natural variations in the wood grain, shape, and engraving that make every mate slightly different from the next.

Created as our first limited release, the Mate Grabado is a more personal expression of the ritual: one that honors the maker, the material, and the slow craft behind every pour. A one-of-one vessel for those who want their everyday mate to carry a deeper sense of place.
